Early Intervention Transition

When a child receiving Early Intervention services appears to continue to need the support of intervention services past the age of 3 years, the determination of his or her program becomes the responsibility of the child's school district through the Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE). Transition to the CPSE program may include changes in the type, frequency, location, and need for services. Your Early Intervention Service Coordinator, with your consent, will assist you in facilitating this transition. If your child is not eligible to receive services through the CPSE, your Early Intervention Service Coordinator will help your child and family transition to community resources.
